Progressive Jackpot Slots

Progressive Jackpot slots are possibly the most exciting slots available online today and the main reason for this is because they can turn people into millionaires with just one spin of the reels. In recent times, there has been a record number of lucky winners from around the world who have managed to scoop life-changing amounts of money on these progressive jackpot slots.

Almost every online casino software company has now established their own progressive jackpot network, with slots being the main types of games that have these huge accumulating prize pools. The fact that the prizes grow so large is all down to thousands of different players all playing for the same prize. For each stake wagered on any particular progressive slot, a tiny percentage goes towards that game’s progressive jackpot prize pool.

A Progressive slot machine is won in the same way as any other jackpot is won. The reels normally have to align with a certain amount of matching symbols for the jackpot prize to be paid out.

As recently as March of 2012, a Scottish player playing on a progressive jackpot video slot called Beach Life (which is a Playtech slot that has 50 winning paylines) netted himself a staggering £5.1 million (approximately $8.03 Million) after having played on the game for roughly ten minutes. Five of the top-paying Sun symbols lined up for him, which then made him rich beyond his wildest dreams.

These games are only available in the real cash mode and some have a rule where you are only eligible to win the prize if you are betting the max, which (on average) is at least a minimum of $2.00 or $2.50 per spin. This varies with each progressive slot and will usually depend on how many paylines it has.

Many of the progressive slots that the leading software companies have released over the past few years have been branded video slots and in order to play on one of these games you will need to register with the casino that has them in their lobby. Once you have registered, it shouldn’t be difficult to find a game with a progressive jackpot as they are usually found in their own special section, marked Jackpot Games, or with words to that effect. There may even be a subtle letter P or J next to the game, pointing out that this particular game has a Progressive Jackpot.
