Multiline Slots

Multiline slots are online slots that have more than one payline. They usually have ten or more paylines and it is quite uncommon to find a multiline slot with more than 100 winning paylines. Most categories of multiline slots have either 10 paylines, 15 paylines, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 or 100 paylines. Some of the leading software companies have developed slots for each of these categories.

Not all multilined slots have bonus rounds, but the majority of them do. Also, you are not obliged to play with all paylines per spin. You can actually select how many lines you would like to play with, but the advice is to always play with the maximum number of lines that the slot offers. This guarantees that you will never miss out on a win.

The minimum cost per spin will therefore increase as you increase the number of paylines that you are playing with so if your balance is quite low you should perhaps try to avoid the slots that have 50 or 100 paylines. You can play with just 1 out of 100 paylines, but the chances of you winning frequently with only one payline active compared to having all paylines activated would be very low.

If you want to play with just one payline, it would be better for you to launch a classic single line slot instead. The outcomes are just as random on a multiline slot as they are on any other online slot. All outcomes are determined by Random Number Generators that are frequently tested.

To view how each line works, you can visit the paytable and there is usually a section which reveals how each of these individual paylines lays across the reels. To adjust the amount of paylines that you want to play with, there is normally a button beneath the reels which has the word Lines written on it. As you adjust this, you will also notice your stake/balance also adjusting accordingly.

You may also be able to adjust the amount of lines by clicking on one of the payline numbers which is normally visible down the left hand side of the reel furthest to the left, or down the right hand side of the reel (furthest to the right). If you want to play for example only 10 out of the 25 paylines, just click on the number 10. This is a common feature on most multilined slots.
